This statement describes our accessibility approach without claiming a level of conformance that has not been verified. It also explains how to report a barrier so we can consider the problem and an appropriate response.

01

Our accessibility approach

We want people to be able to obtain information about our services and contact us regardless of disability or the device or assistive technology they use.

When designing and maintaining the site, we aim to reduce avoidable barriers and use the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 as an accessibility reference.

02

WCAG 2.2 and our current status

WCAG 2.2 is a W3C web standard for making web content more accessible. We use Level AA principles as a target when designing and reviewing the site.

No unsupported conformance claim

We do not state that the whole website is fully WCAG 2.2 AA conformant unless and until the finished site has been assessed to a standard that supports that claim. There may therefore be accessibility issues that have not yet been identified.

03

What we aim to support

Our design and maintenance approach aims to support clear heading structures, keyboard access to our own interactive controls, visible focus states, usable colour contrast, responsive layouts, meaningful image alternatives where appropriate, understandable forms, and content that can be enlarged without deliberately blocking zoom.

These are design objectives. Individual pages or third-party components may still contain issues, which is why we invite users to tell us when something is difficult to use.

04

Third-party content and services

Some functions may depend on third-party services, such as booking, embedded media, maps, forms or other externally supplied technology. Their accessibility can depend partly on the third party's implementation.

If an external component creates a barrier, contact us and we will consider whether the information or service can reasonably be provided in another way.

05

Reasonable adjustments and alternative formats

UK equality law can require service providers to make reasonable adjustments where disabled people would otherwise be placed at a substantial disadvantage.

If the website or our normal communication method creates a barrier, tell us what you need. Depending on what is reasonable in the circumstances, this may include providing information in another format or using a different communication method.

Tell us the barrier, not a diagnosis

You can explain what you are unable to access or what adjustment would help. We do not need unnecessary medical information simply to consider an accessibility request.

06

Report an accessibility problem

If you find content that is difficult to read, navigate, operate or understand, contact us at info@taxaccountant.co.uk or call 0800 135 7323.

Please identify the page or function involved and, if you can, the browser, device or assistive technology you were using.

07

Reviewing this statement

We will update this statement when our accessibility approach, testing position or known limitations materially change. Accessibility work is an ongoing part of website maintenance rather than a one-time statement.
